Company Profile

Language Resources Ltd. is a twenty-two-year-old company specializing in foreign language services for business clients. Our core business is foreign language training (any language!), using innovative and highly effective methods to maximize learning while minimizing stress. Our training programs are all custom-designed, for one person or a small group, and we bring the training to the client's site. Our home office is in Lake Zurich, Illinois--convenient to the northwestern suburbs of Chicago, to the city itself, and to O'Hare Airport. We can bring a training program to you no matter where you are!

We also provide translation and interpreting services, foreign-language typesetting, and foreign-language voice talent for audio or videotapes.

Co-Principal and founder Ruth Cassel Hoffman has studied Spanish, German, Chinese and Breton, in addition to earning her Ph.D. in French from the University of Chicago. Prior to founding Language Resources™, she taught university-level French courses. She is a member of the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce and the GLMV Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the International Visitors Center of Chicago and has sat on the Advisory Board of its Fulbright Visiting Scholar Enrichment Program: Chicago Area.

Co-Principal Miles K. Hoffman holds a Master’s from the University of Chicago. His background includes college teaching, catalog and database marketing, grantwriting, and consulting in business development. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the GLMV Chamber of Commerce and the International Visitors Center of Chicago.

Ruth and Miles received the Community Connections Citizen Diplomat of the Year award from the International Visitors Center of Chicago on December 5, 2002, for providing cultural and professional assistance to US State Department-sponsored visitors to Chicago.
