Cook up a new dish & enjoy lively language instruction!

Be a part of FoodTalk FrenchFoodTalk Italian or what about another language?  Expand your repertoire!

What's a FoodTalk?  It's a short, single-focus language-and-cooking experience in a small, intimate setting.  It will give you a taste of some very basic French, Italian, or another language, and also teach you to cook a simple dish—the kind of country-style dish you would cook for your family.  Not the kind of food you find at most restaurants.  And of course, you get to eat when the cooking’s done!

FoodTalk™ with Language Resources™ is about three hours long.  You’ll get an hour’s lively, interactive instruction in the language you choose, focusing on the ingredients, the utensils, and the actions required for the recipe at hand.

Then our chef takes over and demonstrates how to make a simple but authentic and interesting dish from the country chosen—all the while reviewing the language you’ve just learned.

When the dish is completed, we all sit down to eat, while we enjoy learning a few more phrases—things you can say while dining with new friends around the world, in their language!

THE COOKING PART

Your chef for the lunch or supper is a professional personal chef.  The chef will prepare a simple dish, and demonstrate the relevant techniques so that you can make the dish for your friends at home.  You will receive an illustrated, laminated copy of the recipe to take along.

THE LANGUAGE PART

No grammar drills!  We’ll use our Comfort Zone Learning™ approach to put you on the fast track to communicating.  It’s dynamic.  It’s interactive.  It’s fun.  And it’s about food and cooking!  Then you get to eat and talk some more in French or Italian, always guided by our enthusiastic Language Resources instructor.  We’ll build on your current level in the chosen language, from “pas du tout” basic up to “formidable”!
