Comfort Zone Learning means that we will not pressure you to perform at a higher level than you are prepared for. While learning a foreign language is always hard work, the enthusiastic, lively trainers employed by Language Resources will also make the process fun. Instead of reciting boring grammar drills, you'll be totally involved in learning the language. Your actions help fix the commands in your mind. The more active you are, the more (and the faster) you'll learn!

How will I learn the language?

The way you learned English: by carrying out commands. "Give me your hand, walk to Daddy, eat your beans, smile!"  Even before you understood, people showed you by taking your hand or putting the spoon in your mouth. Don't try to repeat the commands at first; just listen and do them!

But will I learn to speak?

Yes, indeed. The brain needs to hear a new language many times before it can order the mouth to produce the correct sounds.  In fact, like a child learning to talk, at first your pronunciation will be only an approximation and your sentences incomplete. That's okay--it's part of the normal progression.  As you continue to listen and act, your speaking will improve too.

Do you mean you don't use translations?

Right. It's more effective to learn a foreign language without referring to your native language. Words don't correspond to words--they correspond to ideas. Many expressions simply can't be translated exactly from one language to another. Everything you do has a name in English (one action is called "stand up," another is called "sit down," for example), and we are going to give new names--in your new language--to familiar actions. So your body will know what to do when it hears certain commands, even if your brain thinks it doesn't quite understand yet. Trust your instinctive reactions! Every language is logical, but its logic may be different from the logic of your own language.
